전각을 전통 인장의 영역에서 현대 예술과 문화체험으로 확장해온 작가 An artist who expands seal engraving from traditional stamps into contemporary art and cultural experience

어라연 김현숙은 성균관대학교에서 동양미학을 전공한 철학박사이자 전각 작가, 연구자, 교육자입니다. 전각을 실용 도장의 범주에 머물게 하지 않고 회화, 한글 캘리그라피, 설치, 교육, 문화체험으로 확장해왔습니다. Yhlayuen Kim Hyun-sook holds a Ph.D. in Eastern aesthetics from Sungkyunkwan University. As an artist, researcher and educator, she has moved seal engraving beyond practical stamps into painting, Hangul calligraphy, installation, education and cultural experience.

인사동을 기반으로 어라연전각아카데미와 어라연전각체험관을 운영하며, 국내 전시와 교육 활동을 넘어 해외 방문객과 기관을 위한 한국 전각 문화체험을 이어가고 있습니다. Based in Insadong, she runs the Yhlayuen Seal Engraving Academy and Experience Center, connecting exhibitions and education in Korea with programs for international visitors and institutions.
